I've been going to this salon since it opened... and FRANCES does a great job with my hair everytime. She knows exactly what I want and what looks good on me. Booking an appointment with her is fairly simple and I've never had any scheduling issues.

I live in Fair Oaks, CA and I go to 1st Ave Salon in Arcadia. I have my hair done by Frances Raya. I have been to many salons in my area, but none could come close to 1st Ave. Frances is great with color and cut. The salon has the lastest equipment and up to date color. I love vibrant color and i am proud to say, thats what I get. I have received many compliments on my hair. It is worth the trip down south every 4 to 6 weeks. Thanks Frances, you're awesome.

I'm a guy and the reason I go to 1st Ave Salon is to see Frances Raya. She is the best hair stylist I've ever had and, since I began seeing her, no one else has been allowed to cut my hair. I've been loyal to her for years now and it's because she's incredibly talented and very communicative with her clients. She's never made a single cut without me asking for it or without consulting me. Frances truly wants you to look good and wants you to feel good about the way you look. My sisters and I all go to Frances and we've all been asked on multiple occasions who our stylist is. Many that have asked have gone to see her and come away equally thrilled and satisfied with their hair. I've stuck with Frances even when she has changed salons because I simply do not trust anyone else. I would (and have on multiple instances) travel just to have her cut my hair. She's that incomparable. If you're going to go to 1st Ave Salon go for one reason: FRANCES RAYA.

ok my first time here because I bought the groupon thing by accident but I guess it was meant to be cause I was long over due for a trim and dye. Ive never been to a Americanized salon I usually go to the asian one cause of the price. I mean for a cut and dye you can spend up to $60 bucks at the asian salons...as for the american it'd be close to $100. Anyways I had a girl named Amy who did my hair and she is a really sweet girl quite the chatterbox but never a dull moment with her! I had a great experience and got a lot of helpful tips from her....got exactly what I wanted and got my hair did perfectly.I have very long hair so even a quick trim can seem a lot to cut off. She didn't take too much off just enough and I'm very happy with my results!!

I make the drive from the Valley every 6-7 weeks just to see Frances at 1st Ave Salon. I've followed her from a few other salons over the years because she always does a great job with my highlights and I can trust that my hair will look great after she cuts it. The salon is clean and the staff has always been friendly to me. The prices seem a bit high, but I guess that's the trade-off for feeling confident that I'll leave with a quality cut and color job each time.

I absolutely LOVE my hair!!! After a year of searching through the sea of Santa monica salons for someone I can trust, but who can bring solid advice to the table....I have found it in Veka!!! She is more than a hair designer....she is a chemist! She loves the chemistry of color more than any stylist I have ever met----and I have had my hair done by Bumble & Bumble NY, B2V in LA, Sebastian in LA, Garon in NY and Diapetro Todd in SF. I consider myself an expert consumer in hair! She takes small risks that make a big difference. I recommended her to my roomate and we both feel so good about our hair! she went a little darker than we expected on both of us....so beware of that. But, it is so worth it! Darker is something I would have never thought would have looked good and I feel my hair is the best it has looked in years. She uses very safe and vibrant colors----colors you do not find in colorists in L.A using often because they are expensive for her to purchase! No Wella here folks! She uses color from Italy, and Paris who create some of the richest and interesting shades I have ever seen. Plus, she is not overly expensive....ok, She is not cheap....but at least you get what you pay for and more with Veka! I love her

Impressive and Stunning Results

I used to see Veka at a previous salon and was so happy to find her again when I returned to Arcadia! She gave me what feels like rock star hair. After I left a woman on the street complimented my hair, and a girl at Sephora asked who did my hair. My hair normally does not illicit such responses! Veka really listened to what I wanted and gave me back the blonde I had when I was a kid! Veka finished it off with a beautiful hair cut and an amazing blow out. The space is bright and beautiful, and the front desk is friendly and inviting. I can not say enough positive things about this place.

Excellent Service and Staff - Pampering at it's Best!

I heard about this Salon from friends and booked an appt for my fiancé prior to our wedding. Having never been anywhere except a traditional Barber Shop before, I was nervous that he would think a Salon was too much. I couldn’t have been more wrong! He had a wonderful haircut and thoroughly enjoyed his facial treatment. My mother and I had a great experience her. Her hair was flat ironed and looks fabulous. I had a facial and am very happy with the results. The prices are not cheap but they are comparable to other salons. I will return to this salon and would recommend it to others at this point. We have to return to see how they cut and color hair. Thanks for a good experience 1st Avenue Salon.

I started coming here because I followed my hairstylist Isabel since she relocated. She is amazing! You want good results, make sure you go with Isabel. I love this salon. It's really cute and clean, which for me is a PLUS!! I was not too fond of the makeup artist who tried ripping me off on her makeup line. I won't recommend anyone to her especially if she's shady and tries to rip off customers. I would mos def recommend Isabel though. She is the best stylist there. I heart her!! :)
